Case Studies

Dynasty Resources, Inc. and its consultants work on a wide range of projects across a number of industries and market sectors. The case studies presented here specifically highlight our experience in trade show and trade mission projects.

Case Study 1: CASB Trade Delegation to China

Chinese Association for Science and Business Inc. (CASB), a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization was founded in 1997 in New York by a group of highly motivated professionals with advanced degrees and in leadership positions in science, technology or finance. It has over one thousand active members who are accomplished in science, information technology, biotech research, financial services, or in senior management positions in other industries. Since its inception, CASB leads trade delegations to China every year.

Dynasty Resources's Managing Director, Daxi Li, is the founder and chairman of CASB. Together with CASB staff, Dynasty was involved in the planning and implementation of the delegations to China numerous times and the organization of US-China Innovation & Cooperation Conference on Oct 30-31, 2011 in NYC.

Dynasty provided: 1. Pre-trip surveying and research; 2. Trip planning, meeting scheduling; 3. Implementation and ground coordination services to support the CASB delegation's three week trip to five cities in China including first tier cities Beijing, Shanghai, and second tier cities Nanning and Beihai of Guangxi Province and Shantou and Zhongshan of Guangdong Province.

Highlights from the CASB Delegation's trip to Beijing, Shanghai, Guangxi and Guagdong from Nov. 30 to Dec. 14, 2010:

Beijing - Nov. 30, 2010 CASB delegation participated in the "International Workshop on New Wind Power Technology Development" at Beijing University. The conference was co-organized by Dynasty Beijing Office and CASB, the College of Engineering of Peking University, the State Key Laboratory of Turbulence and Complex Systems, the China Center of Advanced Science and Technology (CCAST), and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization.

Shanghai - Dec. 2-4, 2010 CASB delegation met with Mayor Han Zheng and other leaders of Shanghai on Dec. 3 in Shanghai. Mayor Han Zheng expressed his warm welcome to the delegation, and was very interested in the delegation's projects. The delegation also visited Qingpu district, and decided to create an International Cooperation Science and Technology Park in Qingpu, Shanghai. The delegation also worked with Shanghai Science and Technology Committee to hold a workshop on Clean Energy Technologies at the Shanghai Science Hall.

Guangxi - Dec. 5-7, 2010 CASB delegation met Mr. Cheng Zhanglian, Vice Chairman of Guangxi government, and other leaders of Guangxi, and visited Nanning and Beihai.

Guangdong from Dec. 11-14, 2010 CASB delegation met with Mr. Luo Haocai, Vice Chairman of National CPPCC, and Ou Guangyuan, Director of Guangdong People's Congress, and Mr. Huang Yunlong, Chairman of Guangdong CPPCC.

Case Study 2.: ENK CHINA at CHIC BEIJING 2011 and 2012

ENK International founded in 1981, is the leading trade show organization serving the upscale fashion marketplace. The company conducts 21 events per year and represents over 10,000 domestic and international exhibitors.

Dynasty Resources Inc. was selected as the US-China consulting firm by ENK International, the largest apparel trade show in the US in joining the 11th and 12th CHIC show in Beijing to assist ENK's client brands in developing understanding and confidence to explore the Chinese marketplace for the first time.

Chinese International Clothing & Accessories Fair (CHIC) Overseas Pavilion had 771 exhibitors from 23 countries and every year takes place at the New China International Exhibition Center in Beijing.

Dynasty provided complete end to end guidance to ENK both in New York and Beijing including:

  • Pre-show research, presentation and guidance to prospective ENK brand clients in the US and on the ground Beijing arrangements for exhibitors.
    - Provided research on China fashion, apparel and accessories market;
    - Attended exhibitor meetings, consultation and Q&A support;
  • Translator recruitment, training and management
    - Recruited, trained and supervised 20 translators for CHIC 2011 and 35 translators for CHIC 2012 for exhibitors facilitate business discussions and matchmaking events and meetings;
  • Distributor match making
    - Worked with CHIC and external resources to identify VIP buyers or distributors; Researched and provided lead contacts of distributors, investors and partners; Provided match making services and due diligence on these above;
  • Business development and relationship management services including
    - Reached out to Dynasty network of contacts an recruited potential strategic partners including prospective distributors, shopping mall management and real estate developers, provincial and city governments and economic development offices from various provinces in China.
  • Post-show follow up service
    - Provided post show consultation and follow-up to exhibitors;
    - Collected and compiled reports of trade activities as a result from the show for ENK International, New York State Economic Development Office and US Commercial Services;

Dynasty's New York office was under the direction of Ken Meyers, principal and veteran marketing specialist. Dynasty's Beijing' office staff was directed by Hong Cheng, Managing Partner, New York, in all aspects of China brand development and market exploration. She co-authored the book "China Distribution Guide" which served as the ENK China guidebook for exhibitors at the USA Pavilion at the CHIC shows.

Trade Show Results

From CHIC 2011 and 2012 Over thirty (30) US exhibitors ranged from celebrity denim brands to high fashion evening wear benefited from Dynasty's services , including AG Adriano Goldschmied, Allan J., DL 1961, Hudson, J Brand, Nanette Lepore, Paige, Revgrp, Robert Rodriguez, Robin's Jean, Tart Collections, GeoArt, Belargo, Hobo Bags, Ben-Amun, Blaque-Label, Carter's Wee Play, Siwy, Raven Denim, Noveasta, Fvf by Jerry Kaye, Evil, Amazonas Sandals, Anatomic Shoes, Dumond, Stephanie Classic, All Black, Android Homme, Benson, The Finest Accessories.

Among these designers brands that participated in ENK CHINA at CHIC, all of them have established contact with the China market and started working with distributors, joint-partners, franchisees, retailers, wholesalers, and e-commerce websites in various capacities. To name a few of the success stories following the March 2011 and March 2012 ENK CHINA trade shows:

  • August 2011 - Nanette Lepore opening four stores in China in The first shop-in-shop will open in March or April 2012 in Jiu Guang department store in Shanghai, followed by four more freestanding stores or shop-in-shops in 2013 with two in Shanghai, one in Beijing and one in Hong Kong.
  • March 2011 - Hudson Jean received a significant order from Amazon Asia at ENK CHINA show.
  • April 2012 Blaque Lable received significant orders from a few e-commerce sites in Asia (due to confidentiality amounts cannot be disclosed here).
  • April 2012 GEOART, BEN-AMUN, BELARGO, well recognized boutique jewelry brands from New York City all received multiple orders from various distributors who attended the show and in discussion with distributorship.
  • April 2012 Android Hommed in discussions of several distributors from China interested in representing the brand in northeast, south, southeast regions of China.
